State Benefits Summary

The Army National Guard is a military service with a mission to support and defend not only the Constitution of the United States, but also that of individual States. Therefore, as a member of the Army National Guard, you may qualify for an additional education benefits funded by your host State (non federal funds) that are in addition to all other Federal benefits, and as such, these State benefits do not constitute a duplication of federal benefits.

Overview:

State funded programs are financial assistance programs provided by the State Legislature to assist National Guard members in their educational pursuits. These unique benefits are offered to members of the State National Guard, as these members are considered State employees and in recognition of their support to defend the safety of their State and its residents. Most States and Territories offer Army National Guard members varying degrees of education incentives, which many times may be used regardless of any federal GI Bill, Kicker, Federal Tuition Assistance, other federally funded program.

  • Contact your State ARNG Education Office for specific eligibility requirements

NOTE: To be eligible for a State's Program, ARNG Soldiers MUST be a member of that State's ARNG.
