Pastoral Education

In the Army National Guard, you are primarily a minister. That is why the ARNG offers numerous opportunities to continue your pastoral education.

Your training begins with the Chaplain Officer Basic Course, a four-phase program conducted at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Guard members can take up to three years to complete this program.

Where will you serve as an Army National Guard chaplain? You will serve where you are needed most. As an Army National Guard chaplain, you will serve Soldiers and their family members in your community and neighborhood.
