You Are on Your Way

The military entrance processing station was your first step in what is sure to be a proud and rewarding career in the Army National Guard. By now, you've passed the physical and mental qualification exams and reviewed the training program and other options available to you.

Additionally, you've analyzed and signed your enlistment agreement, a binding contract that clarifies the conditions of your enlistment, including:

  • Period of service
  • Training to receive
  • Detailed terms & guarantees

Read your contract carefully, making sure you understand both your obligation to the ARNG and the Guard's obligation to you. If anything is unclear, don't hesitate to ask your recruiting and retention non-commisioned officer.

Standing Tall and Looking Good

Each week that passes during training, you will have accomplished things you couldn't have the week before. After nine remarkable weeks of physical training, running, bivouacs, marches, classes, inspections, and obstacles, your body will be slimmed down, firmed up, and filled out. You will not be the same person you used to be.

In the end, marching to cadence count will have become second nature. You will, in fact, be standing tall and looking good in formation on graduation day. As you look back at what you've accomplished, you will be unable to ignore how great you feel about yourself.
